Scope & Execution.
Phanton Mechanical delivered the full mechanical and ductwork scope for the Arizona College of Nursing campus in Fort Worth — the building where the next generation of North Texas nurses trains for clinical work.
THE CHALLENGE — A nursing campus is not an office building with desks. Clinical simulation labs replicate healthcare environments, and that means healthcare-training air-quality standards: ventilation rates, filtration, and zoned control requirements that most commercial buildings never face. Add the institutional calendar — students enroll against a published opening date — and there is no room for a mechanical system that arrives late or commissions poorly.
THE SCOPE — Full mechanical and ductwork for classrooms, simulation labs, and administrative spaces, with zoned controls tuned to how each space actually gets used: lecture halls that fill and empty on the hour, simulation areas holding clinical conditions, and offices on ordinary comfort schedules. Each zone got its own control logic instead of one thermostat pretending three building types are the same.
THE EXECUTION — We coordinated closely with the architect and the owner from design through commissioning, resolving the institutional details early — air balance between adjacent zones, filtration placement, controls sequencing — rather than discovering them at inspection. The system was commissioned and documented for what an institutional owner actually needs: long service life and low operating cost across decades, not just a passing test on day one.
THE RESULT — A campus that opened on its academic calendar with mechanical systems built to healthcare-training standards.
