Six Flags Tormenta Rampaging Run

Phanton Mechanical delivered the mechanical scope for Six Flags Over Texas' newest flagship coaster — Tormenta Rampaging Run, the world's first giga dive coaster and a six-record-breaking attraction built in our home city of Arlington.

THE CHALLENGE — A theme-park attraction opens on a date the public already knows. When a park announces its flagship coaster, every trade on site is working backward from a marketing calendar, not a construction one. Add the physical reality: our scope had to interlock with a specialty ride installer whose track and structures claimed the same space our ventilation and mechanical runs needed, all inside an operating park.

THE SCOPE — Our crews coordinated ventilation, controls, and mechanical systems across the ride envelope and its support structures: the station, queue areas, equipment rooms, and back-of-house spaces that keep a six-record attraction running through Texas summers and peak-season crowds. The package included a four-zone high-efficiency Lennox mini-split system conditioning the ride equipment and support spaces — the electronics that operate a giga coaster have to hold temperature when it is 105° outside, every day, all season.

THE COORDINATION — On a build like this, coordination is the product. Ductwork routing has to respect ride clearances that cannot move. Equipment deliveries have to hit crane windows shared with steel erection. Controls integrate on the ride installer's schedule, not ours. We ran honest lookaheads with the general contractor, sequenced around the immovable pieces, and closed our punch lists instead of letting them linger into someone else's critical path.

THE RESULT — Mechanical scope delivered on an aggressive schedule for a landmark attraction, in coordination with the general contractor and specialty ride installers, with systems commissioned to perform through the hardest duty cycle in our market: a North Texas summer at a theme park.
